The key moment to the demise of DEI was the ouster of TY Norris. One by one the Dale people were let go or demoted. Junior only left after the damage was irreversible. He tried to salvage the place but Teresa was the one who abandoned what Dale had put in place. Just consider what Junior has built at his shop, yearly contenders and even Championships. It is so sad that he and Kelley were denied the opportunity to keep building on the foundation their father had laid. But the good news is that Junior and Kelley are keeping the Earnhardt legacy alive very nicely. Teresa wanted DEI all to herself, well she got her way and she wasn't up to the task. Arrogance and ego did her in not Junior leaving.
