While I understand him wanting to save his brand new car for Daytona and the Talladega race that's in the chase, if I was a fan who paid money to see that I would be SO disappointed and angry! Did you see the crowd? They haven't had a crowd that good in YEARS! And who do you think a majority came to see? I was so mad after the race I was kicking things. And what really makes me angry is Jr used to do the same thing to Tony Jr. Jr wanted to pit when the others pitted. He said "I don't want to ride around in 16th where all the wrecks happen". Steve insisted he stay out. Jr went out of his way to PROVE to Steve he was wrong. He gave up and dropped to the back - from 16th! I hope Steve handled it better than Tony Jr used to arrrgh!
