GOODBY BUD SHOOTOUT
~ no longer based on ploes won due to Coors owning the pole award these days ..

Dale Earnhardt Sr will forever remain the winningest driver in the Bud Pole Award with 6 wins .

The new format will still be two segments with the first segment being 25-laps and the final segment being 50-laps with a 10-minute intermission between segments.

Participants will be chosen by car manufacturer. The top-6 drivers from each manufacturer according to owner points, Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and Toyota will make the race. With Coors taking over the pole award this past year, Budweiser needed to come up with a new format to qualify drivers for the race.

The new contract is for three-years, which will secure the Bud Shootout through the 2011 Sprint Cup season. - John 'Captain Thunder' Nevins for www.captainthunderracing.com
