Obviously Earnhardt, and I feel that even though he's a dick Petty should get in, and of course France is in, so that leaves 2 spots up for grabs. My personal opinion is that there should never be more than 2 of any paticular group inducted in during a year. For example, no more than 2 drivers, crew chiefs, owners, media, ect. So, with that in mind, here's my votes and reasons why:
Earnhardt-Best driver Ever
Petty-Best stats ever.
Wood Brothers-Best team that never won a championship, but had they tried for them, they'd have MANY.
Junior Johnson-For both his role as a driver AND an owner. Best driver never to win a title, best owner by the rules NASCAR ignored.
Ned Jarrett-Now I realize ALL these people on the list are drivers, but I voted for them because, for one, there were no crew chiefs listed. For another, the only media people listed were former drivers turned tv announcers. So, for that reason, Ned Jarrett gets my vote among those media drivers listed because he was the only cup champ to retire as defending champion, he was a 2-time champ with 50 wins in a short time, and who doesn't LOVE Ned Jarrett and the work he did with ESPN? Benny Parsons was a close 2nd, but the NBC years and his lack of driver production forced me to knock him down a bit.
So that's my picks, anyone else want to list theirs?
