The less the media has a part in the hall of fame, the better off it is.
I've actually been thinking about this as well. but instead of past drivers. My thought have been with current drivers.
The past driver are basically set in stone, and while a current driver may or may not be able to match that, the trump card for the past drivers is the getting the sport where it is today card.
Take for example Cale yarborough. I'd say it's a given that he is in. Do you think Jimmie Johnson is? Luckily Jimmie has more years to race, but as far as to this point, I think there is an argument. Gordon is postively getting in.
Here's one for you though, mark martin? Mark is gonna get in, on his other series accomplishments, but his cup stuff, no way. And that opens a huge can of worms there.
I guess we'll see as the past drivers get put in as what to expect. But it's drivers over the past 20 years that are gonna throw a monkey wrench in the whole thing.
