That's my point, he's going to get in. Based on other series.
So how far will they go down, and what time frame will they use.
What if a driver has a much better cup career than Mark, but pales in stats because of other series.
We don't know what the criteria is yet, but what if Mark's cup wins are enough? Does it just count wins or does top 5s and top 10s come into play, or what about points finishes, all that matters are wins or will top 5s and top 10s counts in that as well?
What about titles in lower series, will 2 nationwide titles have as much merit as say 1 cup title? What about the even lesser series?
I think it should be pretty cut and dry for the older drivers, but once you start getting closer to the 70's, thats when the real debates will start up.
Jr is perfect example, back to back nationwide titles. Do we give someone that hardly raced cup series more merit for thier lesser series wins because they raced very little in the cup level? And they get in, but say Jr doesn't?
What about Donnie Allsion? I remember not to long ago, you guys referring to him as a legend (i sure don't).... Hell, he isn't even going to get in the hall of fame is is? Or do you think he deserves it?
What about Harry Gant? Is the win streak deserving of a spot? He's one of nascar's top 50 drivers... and has a decent combination of stats... is his iroc championship gonna count at all in the decision? Or will mark's for that matter?
These are all modern era guys I'm talking. What happens to the guys that had more accomplishments pre modern era when these post modern era guys start getting elected in? In other words, do post modern stats mean more than pre modern?
