Mrs. Earnhardt to dedicate N.C. Highway 3

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (February 26, 2002)
In honor of her late husband, Teresa Earnhardt will unveil the first official N.C. Highway 3 sign on March 3 in front of Dale Earnhardt Inc. headquarters.

A ceremony will begin at noon with Teresa Earnhardt and other North Carolina state and local officials attending.

Governor Michael Easley signed the bill this past fall to switch N.C. Highway 136 to N.C. Highway 3 in honor of the seven-time Winston Cup champion.

Highway 3 (Dale Earnhardt Highway) is a 28-mile highway that runs past Dale Earnhardt Inc headquarters, through Iredell and Cabarrus counties and Kannapolis, Earnhardt's hometown.
