Second annual Dale Earnhardt day is April 29

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 18, 2003)
The second annual "Dale Earnhardt Day" will be hosted by Teresa Earnhardt at DEI headquarters on April 29th (Dale Earnhardt's birthday), from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. The event will be a celebration of Earnhardt's life and racing accomplishments. Attendance is expected to top last year's turnout of 12,000 fans.

Fans will get a rare opportunity to go behind the walls of Dale Earnhardt Inc. Earnhardt's race cars as well as some of his never before seen personal vehicles will be on display. Fans will also be able to see what kinds of music Dale liked by viewing albums, autographed guitars, and photos from Dale’s personal collection in the Retail Showroom.

Tickets to this summer's Dale Earnhardt Tribute Concert will be on sale throughout the day, and fans will be able to have their picture taken with the Dale Earnhardt Tribute Concert car that Dale Jr. won the Talladega Busch Series race with.

Various giveaways from DEI and it's sponsors will occur throughout the day. Exclusive Dale Earnhardt Day merchandise will also be available.

Totally NASCAR will recap the day's events on their Tuesday evening show. To end the day, the Tim Clark Band from South Carolina will perform from 7 – 9 p.m.

A shuttle service to and from Dale Earnhardt, Inc. will stop at the following hotels, located at the Mooresville Exit 36 off I-77:

Local country station WKKT 96.9 FM, The Kat, will broadcast information about the event, as well as traffic updates, throughout the day. Other Charlotte area radio stations will also be taking part in the festive day with live broadcasts and appearances by their on-air personalities.
